Hooray for Olliewood!

I take care of a LOT of dogs, but none have ever garnered as much attention as Ollie here. He’s a 1 1/2 year old Goldendoodle with the sweetest temperament you’ve ever seen. Kids want to hug him, adults want to know everything about him. Since he’s not my dog, I don’t know a lot. I’ve even started making things up. “Where did he come from?” “A Goldendoodle shelter in upstate Connecticut” (Like those exist, haha). I’m afraid his owners are going to have to stay in Catalina all week. I’ve already got 3 play dates and 2 real dates set up (thanks to Ollie) :-). I’m going to need to keep him for a while ;-)

Guess what I bought today? I LOVE buying a car in the smart phone age. You have so much negotiating power! I actually spent four hours at the Honda dealer last night, and walked out 4 times when they wouldn’t give me what I wanted. Each time I left, they came after me. I ended up getting 3,000 off the list price, 15,500 for my trade-in (1000 more than they initially offered), $425 cash for the new tires I put on my old car last week, and a new iPad 3 worth $600. Not a bad deal! Today when I picked the car up, David and Jane were there, so I stayed to help them negotiate!! Then I drove up to the Hollywood Sign to take some pictures. I went off road and got the tires a bit dirty, but it’s still shiny and pretty (for now). :-)
‘Twas the day before Oscar,
And all through H-wood.
Celebrities were fasting,
Making sure they’d look good.
The statues were polished,
All shiny and gold.
Hoping Jackman or Hathaway,
On Sunday would hold.
With their crash diets over,
The celebrities came.
And fans whistled and shouted.
And called them by name.
There’s Sally Field,
“They like me”, she’s whining.
And there’s Bradley Cooper,
With a bright silver lining.
Is that Denzel Washington,
Fresh off a Flight?
Or is it just Django?
Unchained and all right.
And there’s poor Ben Affleck,
Letting sadness sink in.
Though Argo was good,
‘Twill be hard to beat Lincoln.
So off to the Dolby,
I went with my guests.
We took lots of photos,
And here are the rest!

We went to see “The Impossible” tonight at The Arclight. It was a really tough movie to watch. Make sure you bring Kleenex! The performances were great though. Especially the oldest kid. This was the sunset from the roof of the theater’s parking garage. Pretty spectacular!
Had a great time with Christine & Drew and the boys on their 24 hour tour of Hollywood! See you at Sundance! More here.
This was the scene from the roof of the parking garage of the Arclight yesterday. The roof was closed to parking because they were shooting a movie up there. I don’t know if the movie will be called “Cloudmageddon” but that would be a good title. There’s also a pretty shot of the Hollywood Sign and downtown Los Angeles. By the way, the movie was amazing!
