Sometimes our leaves get color here in California!

It’s been unseasonably warm here in Chicago, but that’s all about to change. Had lunch with my aunt and her friend yesterday, then caught the train out to my brother’s house in the western suburbs in time for a beautiful sunset!

Most of the fall foliage is gone, but I managed to find this remaining patch of beautiful color on the North Shore of Chicago. Much more here

My trip to Chicago is over and it’s good to be back in LA, but the palm trees sure don’t look like this! More here.

Bringing my laptop to the living room to work, where it’s cooler. I do miss fall in Chicago. Nothing like the first frost…and oh, those colors: http://tinyurl.com/3y2fxsg

It comes but once every 20 years, a spectacular coincidence of summer verging into fall, as a rising harvest moon lights the evening sky just as the last sunset of summer glimmers out. It is also the day of the Mid Autumn or Moon Festival, one of the most important holidays on the Chinese Calendar. Enjoy these shots of the moon rising over Los Angeles that I took from my roof tonight.
